Selkie necklace

Approx. 5cm long 
Sterling and fine silver, with a labradorite cabochon. 
This pendant features seashells, pebbles, and rope above a labradorite cabochon. The back of the setting is cut out with the shapes of a seal and woman to allow flashes of colour from the stone to be visible. 
This pendant comes with a 40cm sterling silver chain.

This necklace is an homage to one of my favourite mythical creatures: the selkie. The design was inspired by the ocean colours of the labradorite, and the mysterious (but totally natural!) ‘A’ formation in the stone. The selkie doesn’t always have a happy story, but I like to imagine this one living contentedly in her ocean home.

Each piece in this collection is hand made. As such there may be small imperfections and marks from the making process, so you know your piece was made by my own hands!
Each piece is oxidised to achieve a dark patina that emphasises details of the piece, they do not have a complete polished finish. The patina on these pieces will change over time with wear, inside of ring bands and the backs of pendants may gain a more polished look and the patina can darken or lighten depending on the treatment of each piece by the owner. 
The rings in this collection cannot be resized, and I do not offer returns for incorrect sizes, so please check this carefully before ordering. If you need help with your size don’t hesitate to contact me! I also have a size chart in my FAQ. 
Please be aware that the colour and intensity of the flashes visible in labradorite vary depending on the light source and angle, and the colours may be different in person due to differences in computer/phone screen settings.
